Tap room Manager
This position is responsible for building a culture of excellence in customer service, while maintaining a focus on efficiencies, organization, and profitability in the Tap Room.

Job Title: Tap Room Manager
Reports to: CEO-Kate Walker
Location: Nelson, BC
Hours of Work: 30-40 hours/week
Job purpose/summary
The person in this role has the exciting opportunity to be a Community Ambassador for Nelson Brewing Company through interacting with customers in the tap room. The key focus is on ensuring that every customer receives an outstanding experience while visiting the brewery. It is essential that this position also pay close attention to maintaining and improving systems and processes related to the operation of the tap room, while simultaneously focusing on the use of data and industry insights to generate ideas and strategies that align with achieving company goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure that every customer visiting the Tap Room has an exceptional experience
- Oversee Tap Room schedules, including recruitment, hiring, and training of all Tap Room employees
- Analyze sales data and create report to outline opportunities, risks, and recommendations to present to management monthly
- Ensure strict adherence to liquor license regulations and stay up to date on any liquor license changes or requirements
- Manage inventory stock levels and ensure beer and merchandise are stocked daily
- Receive all resale product and update POS and Inventory Management System in a timely manner
- Work with Production Manager to maintain a high level of quality control
- Work with Marketing team to conceptualize and execute marketing campaigns to increase Tap Room traffic and revenue
- Actively participate in meetings and strategy sessions with Management Team as required
- Oversee POS, including troubleshooting when necessary, and act as point person for any issues or errors that might occur
- Ensure a clean and welcoming environment in the Tap Room, outside areas, cooler and storage areas.
- Manage and perform brewery tours as needed
- Provide support in times of crisis and demand, such as sick employees, malfunctioning equipment, and holidays
Qualifications
- A passion for craft beer, is well versed in the different styles and industry terminology
- Minimum two years of experience managing people
- Highly organized, dependable, and energetic
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Maintain a positive attitude under stress
- Strong initiative to consistently improve processes and seek new opportunities for growth
- Works well independently and in a team environment
- Strong administrative and organization skills
Working Conditions
- 30-40 hours/week, with a mixture of time spent on the floor and performing administrative and leadership duties
- Flexible workdays, including evenings and weekends
- Overtime Averaging Agreement is required for this position
- Opportunity for support in educational growth, Cicerone certification and leadership development
Physical Requirements
- Able to stand for up to 10 hours.
- Capable of lifting 100 lbs.
